In sexual reproduction, each parent produces gametes. Then, one gamete from each parent fuses to produce a zygote that develops into an offspring.

Gamete Formation:

Gametes are formed as a result of the meiotic division of cells.

Meiosis: The process of dividing one nucleus into four unique haploid cells. Only occurs in sex cells.
