Topic Content:

  • Reflection of Sound (Echo)
  • Applications of Echo

Sound waves can be reflected, refracted, diffracted, and interfere with each other, but cannot be polarized. Sound waves cannot be polarized because they vibrate in the same direction as they travel.

Sound waves are reflected when they strike a hard plane surface, similar to light waves. A sound reflected from a hard surface is called an Echo.

Echo is a reflection of sound from a hard smooth surface.
