Belowwere the features of Macpherson’s Constitution;

1. It introduced a quasi-federal government.

2. It still retained the ‘three regional structure’.

3. It created Central Executive Council, without any executive powers, called the Council of Ministers.

4. It established a federal legislature, that was called the House of Representatives. It retained bicameralism.

5. It promoted democracy, as Nigerians all over the country were given the opportunity, to elect their members into the legislative house.

6. Indirect and direct elections were used to elect members of the legislature.
