Jesus Calls his First Four Disciples (Matt 4:18-22, Mk 1:16-20, Luke 5:1-11, 27, John 1: 35-51)
Jesus Calls his First Four Disciples (Matthew 4:18-22, Mark 1:16-20, Luke 5:1-11, John 1: 35-51)
According to the gospel of Matthew and Mark, one day, by the Sea of Galilee, Jesus saw Peter and Andrew casting their nets into the sea. They were fishermen.
Jesus said to them, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men”. Immediately, they left their nets and followed Jesus.
Just a few distances away, Jesus saw James and John, the sons of Zebedee, in the boat with their father mending their broken nets. Jesus called them, immediately, they left the boat and their father and followed him. Although, the gospel according to Luke has a different narrative.
However, the first four disciples of Jesus were Peter, Andrew, James, and John (the sons of Zebedee).
