Example 5.1.1:
Rectangles ABCD and PQRS are similar CD = 3 cm and RS = 5 cm if AD = 12 cm. Calculate the length of PS.
Solution
\( \frac {AD}{PS} = \frac {AB}{PQ} =\frac {BC}{QR} = \frac {CD}{RS} \)
\( \frac {AD}{PS} = \frac {CD}{RS} \)
\( \frac {12}{x} = \frac {3}{5} \)
3 x = 5 × 12
