 Example 3.4.1:

A ladder of length 5.8 m is placed against a wall so that the foot of the ladder is 3.6 m from the wall. Calculate the angle the ladder makes with the ground.

Solution

From the image, we can see we have the values for the adjacent and hypotenuse. So we can use Cos to find θ

Cos θ = \( \frac{Adjacent}{Hypotenuse} \)
