  • Nutrient Cycling in Nature

Nutrient cycling is one of the most important processes that occur in an ecological system. It refers to the movement and exchange of nutrients between living organisms and the non-living parts of the environment.

It occurs as plants and animals consume nutrients present in the soil, these nutrients are released back into the environment through death and decomposition.

The main nutrient cycles include the carbon cycle, oxygen cycle, nitrogen cycle, and water cycle. These cycles working in balance are responsible for carrying away waste materials and replenishing the soil with nutrients.
