Mutualism is a close association between two organisms of different species which is beneficial to both of them.
Examples of mutualism:
i. Lichen:
A lichen is an organism that results from a mutualistic (symbiotic) relationship between a fungus and a photosynthetic organism. The other organism is usually a cyanobacterium or green alga. An example of lichen is Trebouxia and ascomycete fungi.
