Nephritis:

This is an inflammation of the glomerulus caused by bacterial infection. 

Ultrafiltration is not carried out efficiently, consequently, useful substances from the blood are lost with urine. Water is also retained in the body. 

Symptoms:

Reduced volume of urine. Urine may appear dark in colour and may contain blood. Other symptoms include fatigue, headache, increased pressure and nausea.

Remedy:

1. Antibiotics can be used to treat the bacterial infection.

2. Diuretics may also be administered to increase urine production.

3. Reduced intake of salts and protein to reduce associated swelling.
