A forest is a plant community in which trees are dominant. There are different types of forests whose distribution is determined by climate. Tropical rainforest and temperate rainforest which may be deciduous or coniferous are examples of forests. Rainforest is the dominant forest in Nigeria.
Characteristics of the Forest:
1. The bulk of the trees in this habitat have broad leaves.
2. Most of the trees are as tall as 40 metres and above.
3. The trees form canopies.
