These refer to coarse materials such as cellulose from vegetables, which should be present in the diet to aid the passage of food materials through the alimentary canal, these are called Roughages e.g fruits, cellulose, green vegetables, they are indigestible part of plants that are consumed as food. It is sometimes called bulk or dietary fibre and is found in fruits, vegetables, and grains.
