Below are some factors that lead to a low level of personal hygiene;

Poverty: Poverty and low income make a lot of people not be able to afford hygiene and grooming products.

Lack of Access to Clean Water: This is the reality for many people, especially those living in rural areas. It affects an individual’s ability to bathe and do laundry.

Ignorance: Lack of awareness of the health benefits of personal hygiene can result in poor health outcomes.

Lack of Time: Intentional neglect of your body’s cleanliness, because you are too busy, can lead to poor hygiene.

Nonchalant Attitude: Laziness and self-neglect are also common factors for poor hygiene. This is usually associated with depression and mental illness.

Bad Habits: This includes bad habits like not washing your hands properly, not showering frequently, etc.
