/aʊ/

In the production of this sound, the tongue glides at a point between the centre and the back with a closing movement of the lower jaw. This is a gradual closure of the jaw towards /u/. The shape of the lips changes from neutral to a rounded position. The sound has different spelling symbols which are listed
