In our previous lesson, we listed some commonly misspelt words and noted some spelling rules that can help you overcome sloppiness in your spelling of words.  We will now continue with more rules.

vi.      Doubling Consonant

        Words of one syllable and words of more than one syllable with the stress on the last syllable double the final consonant before a suffix beginning with a vowel.
