1. Define recreation.

Answer: Recreation is any activity which an individual undertakes voluntarily during his free or spare time after the day’s activities.

 

2. Give five (5) differences between outdoor and indoor recreation.

Answer:

a. Outdoor recreation requires natural or semi-natural settings indoor recreation is usually done in the comfort of the home.

b. Outdoor recreation needs a more spacious environment (e.g. cycling) compared to indoor recreation.

c. Some outdoor recreational activities are adventurous, involving physical challenge or risk e.g. rafting, climbing, unlike indoor recreation.

d. Some outdoor recreations are team sports which foster social ties, unlike indoor recreation activities.

e. Outdoor recreation creates more thrill and excitement such as mountain biking compared to less exciting indoor recreational activities.
