Recreation is participation in refreshing and entertaining activities that an individual is interested in. It involves a break or diversion from daily routine or monotonous stereotypical lifestyles.

Recreational activities give joy, refreshment, fun, and enjoyment because people engage in activities/recreate something they like.

Recreation is an activity that refreshes the mind and body of people; it is performed normally during leisure (free) time.

Relaxation is a way of resting and enjoying oneself. It is not a perfect rest because it involves some kind of work or activity.

Rest is a state of inactivity i.e. doing nothing after a period of activity. It is a break or pause from work. Sleep and relaxation are forms of rest but the perfect/best form of rest is sleep.

Sleep is a natural state of rest, in which the individual loses consciousness of his/her environment. It increases a feeling of freshness and readiness to work again.

Leisure is spare time. It is a time that is not consumed with the necessities of living and working.
