  • Rules of Javelin

1. The Javelin must be thrown over the upper part of the shoulder.

2. The Javelin must not be hurled i.e. thrown violently with a lot of force.

3. The Javelin must be held with one hand at the grip.

4. He must remain within the runway and behind the scratch line until the implement lands

5. At no time after preparing to throw and until after the Javelin is released is a thrower allowed to turn his or her back towards the landing area.

6. The thrower must not step on the curve scratch line during or after the throw.

7. It is no throw if the tip of the metal does not strike the ground before the remaining part of the implement lands.

8. It is no throw if the Javelin lands outside the landing area.

9. At the moment of release, the thrower must be between the runway side.
