1. What is political socialization?

Answer:

Political socialization is the process involved in getting the citizens educated on the beliefs and values of the political system.

 

2. Discuss the agents of political socialization.

Answer:

(i) The Family: The family is the first and the primary agent through which the child gets the first set of education.

(ii) Mass Media: Most people get politically socialized through the various platforms in the mass media.

(iii) Peer groups: When people interact with friends and peer groups, political information and education are passed around.

(iv) Religious groups: The various religious bodies influence their followers and indirectly politically socialize them during their sermons and various talk shows.

(v) The government: The government can deliberately socialize the people through their set up orientation agencies.
