Herbal medicine is the use of plants to treat disease and enhance general health and wellbeing. There are different herbal medicines in Nigeria.

Many modern drugs were originally extracted from plant sources, even if they’re now made synthetically. This means that using herbal medicines is not necessarily bad, but misuse can have dangerous side effects.

1. Herbal medicines contain toxic metals and may cause severe reactions when they are used in combination with synthetic drugs and over-the-counter pharmaceuticals.

2. It can lead to overdose because there is no way to know the exact amount to take and for how long. This can lead to negative side effects.

3. Side effects can include stomach upsets, sleeplessness, and pains in your muscles or joints.
