What is Deforestation?
Deforestation is the removal of a forest or stands of trees, where the land is thereafter converted to non-forest use.
Examples of deforestation include the conversion of forest land to farms, ranches, or urban use.
It can be defined as the indiscriminate cutting or over-harvesting of trees, for lumber or pulp, or to clear land for agriculture, ranching, construction, etc.
Deforestation can also be by bush burning.
