- Structure of a Tooth
In mammals there are four kinds of teeth, these teeth are of different shapes and sizes and are referred to as heterodont dentition , namely incisors, canines, premolars, and molars. Not all the different teeth may be found in an animal.

Incisors: Incisors are sharp, flattened, and chisel-shaped, located at the front of the jaw. They are used for cutting on pieces of food and holding onto the prey.
Canines: Canines are strong and pointed teeth used for tearing
