What is Glass?

Glass is a hard, usually transparent substance that easily breaks when hit. It is usually formed by melting and mixing sand and oxides of sodium or calcium-soda or limestone at a very high temperature of 3090°F (roughly 1700°C) and allowing to cool.

It can be coloured by adding some substances to it while in the molten state.
