Nigeria People’s Party (NPP) was formed in October 1978. It was formed by joint efforts of three (3) different groups which were as follows:

  • The Progressive Front was represented by Nnanna Ukaegbu, Matthew Mbu, Obi Wali, and Adeniran Ogunsanya.
  • Club 29 was represented by Solomon Lar, Paul Nnongo, Paul Belabo, etc.
  • National Council of Understanding and Solidarity was led by Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri.
